This is a new community created specifically to let homeschool educators exchange tips, suggestions, and recomendations. Of course, anyone interested in educating children is more than welcome to participate!
Please only tips, suggestions, and recomendations.
News stories, questions about legal issues relating to homeschooling, petitions, rants about your day/neighbors/kids/public school system/etc will not be tolerated. There are a ton of other homeschooling communities on LJ where those are appropriate!
Please do not be judgemental about other people's school styles. If you've used a resource that is being praised, and didn't like it, there are respectful ways to say that. But please don't just shoot things down on principal because you don't like that philosophy or method. Keep in mind that there's no such thing as "most homeschoolers." Just because your family does something doesn't mean that everyone does.
When making a recomendation, please supply as much information as possible! I think people are most interested in roughly what age you recomend it for, but please mention anything else you think might be pertinent, such as whether it emphasizes a particular religion or philosophy.
Please use tags. The currently defined tags are: appropriate for preschool appropriate for elementary school appropriate for middle school appropriate for high school art/drama/music curricula english/language arts geography health/nutrition/gym history math reading religious science secular If you'd like me to add another tag, please send me an email or leave it in that entry's comment and I'll add it.
